In the afternoon of January 16th, “Design·together with the city” est·2018 Annual Grand Ceremony of Space Design in Wuhan, which was sponsored by AXENT Switzerland, was successfully held in studio on Hongkong Road, Wuhan. By reviewing the history of Wuhan’s development and changes in the past 40 years since the Reform and Opening-up, the grand ceremony thanked the designers for their contributions to the development of the city, and for creating a better life with their design wisdom and creativity.
Cities and People
In the beginning, Mrs. Jie Zhou, doctoral supervisor and professor of Wuhan University, shared her research on urban planning and design of Wuhan for over 20 years. She thinks that the good design should be pure and nature even created by human. The best design should leave space for nature and future generations. Wuhan has a long history, and people have lived in harmony with nature since the founding of the city in Shang and Zhou dynasties. With its development, people enjoy a more colorful life, and have great expectations for the future of it.
Space and People
Then Mr. Bin Chen, master’s tutor and associate professor of Wuhan University of Technology, as well as the president of Wuhan Design Alliance, shared his understanding of the relationship between space and people. Designers should cherish every encounter with space, have an intimate, humble and friendly attitude. In addition, they should also be positive and kind to space, enlighten themselves and benefit others when facing space in their lives. Wuhan’s development is closely related to the attributions of designers, who have witnessed the development and changes of the city, and connect people with the city’s emotions with their hands. We appreciate them for bring positive energy for the city.
A total of 16 groups of space designers in Wuhan are acknowledged at the ceremony, they are Mr. Daming Yang, Mr. Jizhong Zhang, Mr. Jinfu Shen, Mr. Yong Zhu, Mr Xiaojun Fu, Mr Fei Liu & Mr. Ming Lu, Mr. Hongjun Han, Mr. Hao Zou, Mr. Ding Fen, Mr. Tianyu Xiong & Mr. Xiaokai Zhang, Mr. Kun Wang. Mr. Wei Duan, Mr. Dengfeng Xu, Mr. Honghua Jiang and Mr. Youxin Zhang.
Family and People
In the part of “Family and People”, Mr. Ming lu, one of the national class-A actors, the vice-chairman of Literary Federations in Wuhan and Hubei province, as well as the chairman of Quyi Artists Association in Wuhan and Hubei province, shared his understanding of family. Looking back on the 40 years of reform and opening up, family life has constantly made good changes, which will continue in the future.

In the end, Dr. Yimin Fang, vice president and chief product officer of AXENT, was invited to give a keynote speech “Future bathroom, future AXENT”. He introduced the high-end and intelligent brand — AXENT to hundreds of Wuhan designers, and discussed the design concept and direction of the product.
